Alison Buchanon

Junnoy Murriwan (English name - Alison Buchanon) is a Gumbaynggir painter from Nambucca Heads.
Alison was raised by her father in Northern New South Wales. She grew up in a beachside tin shed, helping her family make a living by digging beach worms to sell to bait shops and once owned 160 pigeons, which she raced.
Her family maintained a strong connection with traditional culture. Alison was chosen to exhibit at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. As a result, she moved to the city where she established her own art gallery.
Alison's art reflects her love and respect for nature and life.
